These soft bite-sized sweets are made with fig and lemon, giving them a more distinct flavor and texture than the plain loukoumi you may have tried in Greece. The chewy texture of a loukoumi lets you savor the flavor for longer.
You’ll always find Greek coffee accompanied by a little “loukoumi” (also known as Turkish Delight), but we don’t necessarily need coffee or tea to enjoy these tiny treats!
We love a loukoumi at any time of the day because it gives us a little taste of something sweet without completely going overboard (admittedly, we shake off the excess sugar…but we recycle it in our baking for a special touch!).
