Elizabeth Lowry's Sparkling Citrus Vodka Cocktail

We've had wonderful collaborations with very talented people lately, including a number of photographers who have been shooting (and trying!) our products. One of those is Cincinnati-based Elizabeth Lowry, who, in her own words, is "somewhat of a Jack (Jill) of all trades", but her specialties and heart lie in copywriting and photography. She has been an editorial professional for twenty years in a variety of publishing fields, writing, editing, project management, social media, and photography.

I sent Elizabeth Citrus' Triple Citrus Fruits Marmalade and the resulting pictures show her talent in styling and creating compelling content. She not only produced gorgeous photos, but also came up with a cocktail recipe that we can't resist sharing. "I had so much fun creating and shooting this. I just love doing it all from start to finish, I find it so rewarding."

We hope you'll find it just as rewarding to try her recipe . Forget the usual reds and pinks and try this orange treat this coming Valentine's Day weekend, whether you're celebrating with family, friends (Galentines, anyone?!), or even just relaxing by yourself after a hectic week. I loved the way she reduced the marmalade to a syrup, which I admit, I hadn't thought of.  We've done a lot with the syrup from our spoon sweets, but I admit, this is even better, as the combination of Orange, Bitter Orange, and Grapefruit give the drink even more zest.

Have fun with her recipe below...or make your own and send it to us!

Syrup

1/4 cup of Citrus Triple Citrus Fruits Marmalade

2 tbsp water

In a small saucepan over low heat, stir to dissolve the marmalade in water until a syrup forms, about 3-5 min.

Cocktail

2 tbsp Citrus syrup

2 shots of vodka

6 oz club soda

Orange wedge

In a lowball glass with some ice, add the syrup, followed by the vodka. Stir.

Top with club soda and the juice from one orange wedge.

Garnish with orange peel and rosemary, if desired.
