Traveling to Greece: Meteora, a uniquely spiritual place

The Zelos Family wishes you a Kaló Mína (Happy Month) with a special Greek Postcard from Metéora!

Did you know that the word Metéorameans literally 'hovering in the air'? That is exactly what you will get when you visit Meteora, the most beautiful landscape on earth, just a four-hour drive from Athens.

The main attraction is its monasteries, built on the awe-inspiring rock outcroppings, but there are so many other things you can do and see when you visit this magnificent place. I visited this unique Greek region three years ago with my family and here are the top 5 things I'd suggest you do:

  1. Visit Natural History Museum & Mushroom Museum
  2. Have a mushroom dinner at Neromilos Restaurant
  3. Book a Hiking and Scramble tour of the Great Saint
  4. Hike through the Monasteriesand Monoliths
  5. Enjoy the Views of Kalambakaand Kastrakivillages

And, of course, go out at night to enjoy delicious Greek Food! Metéora has amazing places to dine, each with its own signature dish and delicacies. Try Restaurant Meteora for a once-in-a-lifetime gastronomic experience - they let you walk through the kitchen and see how your food is prepared. You can learn some Greek cooking tips from the best, and, at the same time, know what’s on your plate!

Here's to a happy March (and don't forget to wear your márti bracelet!).
